Good Afternoon Colleagues & Friends,
I hope this email finds you all doing well this week. The Albuquerque Area IHS Office has been busy planning an Area-wide training/meeting opportunity for Tribes on health care reform and how the Affordable Care Act will impact American Indians in New Mexico. As the ACA Point of Contact at the ABQ Area IHS office, I have been working with the National Indian Health Outreach & Education (NIHOE) initiative to plan this training/meeting and solidifying presenters and topics.
The training/meeting will take place next Friday, June 14th at the Southwestern Indian Polytechnic Institute (SIPI) Science & Technology Auditorium from 1pm – 5pm. Everyone is welcome to attend the training/meeting and there is no cost or registration required! Please feel free to forward to your contacts, consumers and interested individuals!!
Topics that will be discussed are below and the ‘Save the Date’ flyer is attached to this email for your review and dissemination:
· 2013 Outreach & Education Collaboration Efforts in Indian Country
· What’s Going on in NM - “NM Centennial Care & Medicaid Expansion: How do they affect me?”
· Navigators & In-Person Assisters - “Getting Assistance with Enrollment”
· Small Business Health Options Program (SHOP) & Small Business Tax Credit
· IRS Tax Penalties - “Staying out of hot water!”
· Impact of Health Care Reform on the Urban Indian Population
· There will also be an opportunity to get your questions answered!!
