Happy New Year to everyone,
I am back from Holiday vacation with my family ready to continue our work with Tribal Programs Advocates and Tribal Leaders. I will continue to provide all the latest information on NM's 1115 Waiver Centennial Care, Medicaid Expansion, and the NM Health Insurance Exchange (NMHIX) as well as developments with UNMH new Hospital and the IHS.
I will also be posting details of upcoming Meetings and conferences that advocates and Health Programs should attend, like Indian Day at the NM Legislature February 1, 2013, at the Round House in Santa Fe.
I also intend to schedule a monthly meeting of the "Kewa Workgroup" so long as there is a need for Advocates and Health programs meet regarding the above issues.
At the end of last year it was decided that we would make an effort to get a letter written and signed by Jemez Governor to detailing how important the current Medicaid battle with HSD is and what they can do to help Next Years incoming Governors continue our efforts in maintaining the Medicaid Program for Tribes. I will be posting the final draft of the letter as soon as possible.
We all need to make an effort to contact our Tribal Leaders and Council members and get them updated for an upcoming conference call with CMS regarding the Centennial Care Waiver Timeline and the progress between CMS and the State. The Conference calls time and Date has not been finalized yet but currently we are looking at January 14, 15, 16. We are also looking at scheduling the next meeting of the Kewa Workgroup for January 17th at the ABQ Area IHS offices. I will post the details of both meetings as soon as they are finalized
Thank you for you interest and the work that you do on behalf of our Tribal people and communities
