HB 376 passes the House Floor

From the Center on Law and Poverty:

Good morning, All:
Attached is the report of the Final Passage of HB 376 introduced by Rep. James Roger Madalena that creates a new section of the Public Assistance Act to remove the requirement that Native American Medicaid recipients are mandated to enroll in managed care.  Your dedicated action and enthusiastic involvement in this effort brought a clear victory:  60 votes in favor and only 7 votes opposed.  If there was any doubt about the strength of our involvement in the political process, this victory puts that question to rest.  Our next task is to be victorious in the state Senate which involves the same process we just completed in the House.  The bill will be heard before Senate committees and then be forwarded to the Senate for a full floor vote.  Later today, I will receive information about the specific committees and possibly when the committee hearings will be held.  This information will be forwarded to you immediately along with a list of members of the Senate and their contact information.  We’ve done it once and we can do it again!
My best regards,
