House Bill 367 Dental Therapist Act

This bill allows for the creation of a Dental Therapist that would be overseen by a licesened Dentist, and would help alleviate the shortage of dental providers in Rural NM.  This type of professional already exists in Alaska among the rural and Native American/Alaskan Native communities, this would be the first time this program would be allowed to exist in the "lower 48 States"

House Bill 250 is scheduled to be heard before the House Appropriations and Finance Committee Thursday February 21 in Room 307.  The committee is scheduled to meet at 1:30 and our bill is near the end of the agenda; so that means that it will not be heard until late unless Nick moves in up in the agenda.  It is very important to have people there to support this bill since it is the only possible source for additional network funding.

Senate Bill 506 which mirrors HB250 is scheduled to be heard Friday February 22 before the senate Public Affairs Committee  in room 326.  This committee does not meet until 2 pm and our bill is number 11 on the agenda; so it will not be heard until later in the afternoon.  It is very important to have people there to support this bill since it is the only possible source for additional network funding.
